An Aboriginal remedy is set to help give clubbers, workers and drivers a boost.
Australian-made energy drink Buzz Monkey claims to be the first of its kind, containing wild plum leaf and fruit, which are used by Aborigines to sustain energy and enhance endurance. It also contains water from New Zealand as well as more typical energy drink constituents - taurine, caffeine and vitamin B6.
Rakhi Sood, MD at importer La Vive International said the drink was aimed at young people who needed the buzz to stay awake, refreshed and stimulated, and was a healthier alternative for those consumers wanting more energy in a healthy drink. "The introduction of wild plum extract acts as a great benefit for sportsmen and others with increasingly active lifestyles," said Sood. "Wild plum contains high levels of magnesium, potassium and iodine."
The drink, which was first launched in 2005, is already sold in countries including Singapore and South Africa.
