Marks and Spencer’s strawberry growers are celebrating after sweeping the board during the Kent Soft Fruit Show.
The retailer’s growers dominated the prizes during last week’s show, with the exclusive Jubilee variety taking first prize in two leading classes.
Cherries also proved a success for M& S with the overall winner of Best Variety of Cherry being taken by Lower Hope Farm, a M& S grower from Herefordshire, which also took six other awards.
Andrew Sharp, M&S technical manager, said: “This event is now the foremost soft fruit competition in Europe, and it is heartening for our growers and our customers to see Marks and Spencer quality fruit sweeping the board once again.”
