Jim Cooney, chief executive of Glanbia Foods' UK procurement company Glanbia Milk, has also become deputy chief executive of Glanbia Foods UK to target ongoing development in the hard cheese market. The group said the post was a newly created role and follows Cooney's leadership of Glanbia Foodservice. His management team oversaw its turnaround and subsequent sale to Peter's Foodservice. Cooney has worked for Glanbia for nearly 20 years in several senior positions in the UK, Ireland and the US. He is also a member of Glanbia's executive management group. He said: "I'm looking forward to the new challenge, driving the future development of the Glanbia Foods UK business with particular emphasis on the industrial cheese sector."
