Food to go specialist Adelie Foods has doubled its distribution capacity as it launches a new depot in Cardiff and expands into two new Haydock and Tamworth sites.
The developments follow a £3m investment, which sees all three sites boost their frozen and chilled capacity.
Tamworth is the largest site at 28,000 sq ft, followed by the 25,000 sq ft Haydock site and the 8,000 sq ft Cardiff site.
Adelie Foods’ new electronic point of distribution system is also being rolled out across its entire distribution estate, allowing the company to record real time delivery data and improve customer service.
“It’s an exciting time at Adelie as we modernise our depots and vehicle fleet, reaching more consumers than ever before,” said head of distribution Sean Glover.
“The investment will allow us to deliver to more locations and provide an even better level of service to our customers from all channels. Our distribution network is continuing to grow and the expanding capacity across the three sites will help facilitate further growth.”
Adelie Foods delivers to more than 34,000 accounts per week, supplied by over 270 vehicles. It has four manufacturing sites and seven distribution centres across the country.
