Adria Vini is launching a trio of canned wines via its Italia brand.
Moscato, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Grigio Rosé will roll out in June (rsp: £1.95-£2.85/250ml).
Adria Vini is a joint venture between Italian winemakers Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero. The launch comes after Araldica last year installed a new canning line last year to meet “the growing trend for wine in cans across Europe”.
The cans will be distributed in the UK by Boutinot.
Boutinot product manager Katie Jackson said she was “excited to be launching these very competitively priced canned wines at a time when consumers are increasingly seeking more environmentally friendly and convenient packaging options.”
Pinot Grigio and Pinot Grigio Rosé were “firm favourites” with consumers and the lightly sparkling Moscato at 5% abv was “a perfect choice for those seeking a lower alcohol option”, she added.
It comes amid a flurry of activity in the canned wine sector.
The Grocer this week revealed that canned wine brand Hun had been sold to its supplier Origin Wine after falling into administration, while fellow canned wine brand Babe quietly exited the UK at the end of 2021.
It isn’t all bad news, however. Hardys this week unveiled a trio of canned wines, also set to roll into retailers and the on-trade in June.
