L’Oréal UK & Ireland has announced the promotion of Adrien Koskas to managing director of its consumer products division.
Koskas, who has been general manager for the L’Oréal Paris portfolio since August 2015, will take on his new role on 1 January, overseeing a number of leading cosmetics and personal grooming brands, including Garnier, Maybelline New York, ABB and Essie.
A former assistant account manager with marketing & PR group Publicis, Koskas joined L’Oréal in 2005 as an international project manager. He has since held positions such as haircare & digital group manager, and marketing director for Garnier UK.
Since taking on his current role two years ago, L’Oréal Paris had seen its highest growth rate for 10 years, said the company. Koskas had been “a change agent in delivering a number of transformative projects, which have been responsible in redefining both marketing and commercial structures and processes across the business”.
Last year, he oversaw the awardwinning True Match campaign, which championed diversity with the brand’s first mass-market cosmetics push to feature a man and a hijab-wearing woman. “As the biggest beauty brand in the world, it is our responsibility to drive attitude changes in the industry,” said Koskas.
His responsibilities as L’Oréal UK&I’s next consumer products MD are currently held by Vismay Sharma, who will continue in his main role as the company’s overall managing director. The new general manager for L’Oréal Paris is yet to be announced.
