Aero has followed Nestlé stablemate Kit Kat into confectionery’s fashionable gifting sector with the addition of Bliss.
The premium new product comprises bite-size chocolates with a soft filling. They are individually twist-wrapped and packed in a sharing box format, which “pops open to reveal a beautiful tray in a watercolour design”.
Created to meet demand for “light yet indulgent luxury products”, Bliss is rolling out this week in three variants: Milk Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Mixed Selection of milk chocolate, salted caramel and praline (rsp: £3.99/144g).
It comes just over a year after Nestlé added Kit Kat Senses in a similar box-cum-sharing platter pack. Backed by a £7m spend, it was hailed by its maker as “a big innovation” and “a more premium format that gives people the opportunity to enjoy their favourite Kit Kat in a different way”.
Senses was followed later in 2018 by Maltesers Truffles from Mars Wrigley – another premium spin-off aimed at gifting, which generated more than £9m in value sales in less than six months.
