Several senior appointments have been announced by AF Blakemore & Son, the Wolverhampton based Spar wholesaler and cash and carry operator, following the retirement of two mds who each worked for the company for more than 30 years.
Sam Wilcox has taken over as managing director of the cash and carry and foodservice divisions, following the retirement of Tony Salisbury, in addition to his responsibilities as operations director on the retail board.
And following the retirement of Colin Ellis, Geoff Hallam has been promoted to managing director of Tates, the company owned stores division of AF Blakemore.
Commenting on the new appointments, managing director Peter Blakemore said: "We are obviously sorry to lose both of these long-serving employees but they have left their respective business areas in great shape and have created strong teams to ensure our continued success. This has been demonstrated by the fact we have been able to appoint their successors from within the company."
The cash and carry board has been further strengthened by the appointment of Andy Grinsell as operations director and Richard Frost has been appointed operations director of the foodservice division.
