This year's show has swelled in size partly due to the many new exhibitors and partly because many regular producers have upped their size to display new additions to their portfolios.
Great Western Wine is one of the latter group and this year it will be extending its stand space by more than 50% to reflect the increased expansion of its wine portfolio in the past 12 months. It will be unveiling four new agencies from Australia, South Africa, Italy and Argentina.
Philip Addis, managing director at Great Western Wine, says: "The London wine fair is one of the key opportunities in the trade calendar for us to catch up with our existing customers and also to make new contacts, hence we took the decision to increase our investment this year."
Stratford's Wine Agencies will also be expanding and this year will be exhibiting from a double-decker stand. It will be representing a total of 22 wineries, with producers from Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, South Africa and France.
Cape First Vineyards from Stellenbosch is new to Stratford's, joining its South African portfolio. The two labels, Makana and Hill Station, will retail between £3.99 and £10.99.
Another importer showing an expanded portfolio is Buckingham Vintners, which will be launching a range of iconic new varietals at this year's fair under its Buckingham Estate brand. Chairman Cliff Robertson says: "Since the new range of Buckingham Estate was launched at the LIWSF last year, we have gained listings in both Asda and Morrisons."
From its San Pedro winery in Chile, the company is revealing a relaunch of 35 South at this year's fair and a new look for its premium Castillo de Molina. Buckingham will also be launching two new umbrella brands from Italy and Australia.
Other exhibitors to double the size of their stands this year are Pernod Ricard UK and Thierry's Wine Services, both of which will be adding second levels to showcase new portfolio additions. Pernod Ricard UK's increased portfolio includes Montana and Campo Viejo.
