Stamford Partners has named Alastair Mathieson as partner.
Mathieson has more than 18 years’ experience in investment banking with Paribas and Deutsche Bank, where he worked in the European consumer team. “I’m very pleased to be joining Stamford Partners at a time when the business is demonstrating great momentum and there is an acceleration in M&A activity in the consumer space,” he said.
Stamford Partners supported Rutland in its investment in Bernard Matthews earlier last week. In August, it also advised Investcorp on its £100m acquisition of Tyrrells. Other deals it has been involved with this year include Innocent and Ella’s Kitchen.
Partner Damian Thornton added: “We are delighted to welcome Alastair who brings with him an outstanding track record of consumer deals in Europe and beyond. We have had a fantastic year already and we are looking forward to consolidating our position as a market leader.”
