Team GB sponsor Aldi is marking the start of the Tokyo Olympics tomorrow (23 July) with the launch of a foot-long sushi roll.
The discounter’s take on the Japanese delicacy will land in all stores from today and is billed as a UK supermarket first.
As well as measuring a “whopping” 30 centimetres long, the roll also features two fillings. One half is stuffed with crunchy katsu chicken and topped with crispy onions, while the other features smoked salmon and cream cheese (rsp: £2.49).
Aldi said the bumper roll was “perfect for sharing” during the games and expected it to be a popular addition to its “great quality, incredible priced sushi range”.
