Aldi is helping athletes get kitted out for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games this week as part of its Team GB sponsorship.
The discounter has set up shop at the NEC in Birmingham, where the team will go to collect their kit for the games from today until Friday.
The NEC will play host to various team members as they arrive in allocated time slots to collect, try on and check out their kit.
Aldi has developed checkouts especially for the occasion. Trained staff will also be on hand around the venue to “help drive speed and efficiency”.
Aldi recorded “one of the fastest kitting out processes to date” when it hosted the event for the Baku 2015 European games, and it set out hopes to “replicate or even improve upon” its performance this year.
Staff who took part in the 2015 process will lead this year’s team, which will be made up of 80 employees from different regions of the UK.
Bill Sweeney, chief executive officer at the British Olympic Association, said the kitting out experience was a “vital time in the team’s preparation”.
“We’re confident that Aldi will ensure the team receive that exceptional service and efficiency for which the business is so famous,” he said.
