Aldi has unveiled its first-ever range of Christmas hampers. Available to order online from 14 November, the five-strong lineup features products such as wine, truffles and hand-cooked crisps from British artisan suppliers.
The Specially Selected offering comprises The Exquisite Hamper, the most expensive at (£98.37), The Christmas Feast Hamper (£87.98), The Specially Selected Luxury Hamper (£53.27), The Specially Selected Treats Hamper (£24.51), and The Chocolate Lovers’ Hamper (£19.94).
They join 16 other SKUs in the Specially Selected Exquisite range, including Mince Pies (rsp: £2.99/six-pack), Jewelled Layered Pie filled with chicken, pork and pâté (rsp: £14.99/1.75kg), and Dry Hung, Free Range Rumburgh Farm Bronze Turkey (rsp: £8.99/kg).
“With Christmas being a magical time of indulging loved ones with the finest foods, wines and gifts, amazing quality needn’t cost a fortune,” said Tony Baines, joint managing director of corporate buying at Aldi.
“Everyone should be able to afford the very best, especially at Christmas when the average household shopping bill can exceed £790.”
Aldi’s introduction of The Exquisite Hamper marks a move to further expand its recently added ‘super-premium’ Exquisite line beyond the original wines.
The latest launch follows the unveiling of a four-strong craft wine range in partnership with South African winemakers Origin, to tap the growing craft market and attract millennial consumers.
