Aldi recalls spreadable cheese product over temperature control issue

Aldi is recalling a spreadable cheese that may be unsafe to eat thanks to inadequate temperature control.

The issue affects tubes of Primula Spicy Cheese ‘n’ Jalapeños sold at about 80 Aldi stores in the Midlands.

The Food Standards Agency has advised consumers the product could be spoiled and should not be eaten.

Aldi is informing customers via point of sale notices and on its website that they should return the product to a store for a refund.

“We are recalling this product from a limited number of stores in the Midlands due to an isolated temperature control issue,” the notice says.

“Customers who purchased this product from affected stores are asked to return it to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation.”

Aldi has also published a full list of affected stores affected.

The issues affects 150g tubes of Primula Spicy Cheese ‘n’ Jalapeños with best before dates up to and including 7 February 2023.
