Aldi has rolled out its click & collect service to eight more stores, a month after it launched from a single branch in Loughborough.
The service is now also available from stores in Peterborough, Stoke-on-Trent, Newark in Nottinghamshire and four stores across Derbyshire. The latest, in Ashby, is joining the trial today.
A further six are to be added by the end of October, Aldi said.
Customers place their orders at groceries.aldi.co.uk, the discounter’s first UK grocery e-commerce site, where they choose their store for collection and book a one-hour slot. Orders are picked and packed by Aldi staff and customers pay a click & collect charge varying between about £4 and £5 depending on the store and slot chosen.
On arrival, customers park in a dedicated click & collect bay where the shopping is brought out to them.
It’s one of two major online grocery ventures launched by Aldi in the pandemic. In May the supermarket began serving orders via Deliveroo, a trial which last week doubled in size to 42 stores. More are expected to be added soon.
