Aldi UK’s marketing director Adam Zavalis has left the company to join Boots UK as director of brand and communications.
Zavalis had “played an important part in Aldi’s award-winning marketing team over the last six years,” the discounter’s group director for marketing and communications, David Hills, said.
He had helped develop award-winning campaigns which had contributed to Aldi’s growth into the UK’s fifth biggest supermarket, according to a Boots spokeswoman.
His team won the Marketing Team of the Year award at the Marketing Week Awards 2016 and Masters of Marketing 2017 and 2018.
“We wish him all the very best in his new role,” said Hills.
Aldi did not comment on any replacement.
Zavalis is due to start his new role on 25 February, reporting to Boots UK and ROI marketing director Helen Normoyle.
“I’m delighted to welcome Adam to Boots,” said Normoyle. “He brings a lot of valuable experience to the role, and as we celebrate the 170th year of Boots this year, I and my colleagues look forward to working with him to take this amazing brand into the future.”
