Aldi’s own-brand beauty range has received cruelty-free certification from a large animal safeguarding organisation.
The supermarket achieved Cruelty Free International’s Leaping Bunny certification, which means that none of its own-brand products are tested on animals.
The Leaping Bunny is the only globally recognised certification for cosmetics, household cleaning and personal care products for cruelty-free own-brand ranges.
This comes after Aldi’s own-brand household products were awarded the same certification in July last year.
“Achieving this certification across our entire own-brand household and beauty ranges is hugely important both to us and our customers,” said Aldi UK corporate responsibility MD Oliver King.
“The presence of the Leaping Bunny logo will help our customers make informed decisions about their shopping, and importantly makes cruelty-free certified products more accessible and affordable.”
Cruelty Free International chief executive Michelle Thew added: “We are delighted that Aldi has made the commitment to Leaping Bunny certification for all its own-brand household and beauty products, proving that affordable products can, and should, be free from animal testing. Aldi’s Leaping Bunny certification marks a step-change for compassionate people across the UK - shopping cruelty-free has never been so easy.”
