Morrisons has become the first of the big four to source all fresh meat from Britain following a switch to 100%-British fresh beef.
The supermarket already stocks 100%-British fresh pork, lamb and poultry, but previously sourced 5% of beef sold in England from Australia.
"This move to 100%-British fresh beef is part of our commitment to offering fresh British-sourced food wherever we can and supporting British farming," said Morrisons' corporate affairs director Chris Blundell.
Morrisons had set an example that all the major supermarkets should follow, said NFU president Peter Kendall.
