Hundreds of existing and potential new National Lottery retailers flocked to Allwyn’s stand at the NEC, Birmingham

National Lottery operator Allwyn showcased its new state-of-the-art terminals and permanent PoS kit at the National Convenience Show this week.

Hundreds of existing and potential new National Lottery retailers flocked to Allwyn’s stand at the NEC, Birmingham, to check out and test the new equipment, the business said.

This included its three-strong range of new terminals, which Allwyn has begun rolling out to stores, as well as its new “attention-grabbing illuminated” scratchcard dispenser with integrated lighting and 15.6-inch HD screen.

The new play station, which has double-sided graphics and a wing to display key information such as stories about local National Lottery-funded projects, was also on display.

“The National Convenience Show provided an amazing opportunity to meet so many retailers, and to give them a chance to have a play with our new state-of-the-art lottery terminals – which are currently rolling out to our existing Compact Lottery Terminal stores,” said Allwyn director of commercial partnerships and retail sales Alison Acquaye-Acford.

“All of this reflects Allwyn’s wider efforts to transform the National Lottery and demonstrates how retail remains absolutely central to our vision to responsibly grow the National Lottery over the next decade.”

Trudy Davies, who runs the Woosnam & Davies News store in Llanidloes, said: “I’ve had a good look at the new lottery terminals, which I’m very impressed with. And the new scratchcard dispenser is really striking with its lighting. I absolutely know that it will attract customers, and anything that does that is a great thing.”

Londis retailer Jyoti Rathod said: “We already have our new Scratchcard dispenser in store and sales have definitely increased since it was installed. So, it was great to visit here today and get a chance to see and try out the new terminals too.”

The National Convenience Show 2025 ran from 7 to 9 April.
