Alpro has expanded its plant-based big pot yoghurt alternative lineup with its first 100% oat-based variant.
Launching into Tesco before the end of July, Alpro Absolutely Oat (rsp: £1.99/350g) boasts the highest oat and fibre content on the market, the brand claimed. It is also naturally low in sugars and fat and has the added benefit of natural cultures, it said.
“Oat drinks are now a firm favourite amongst consumers, with oat on track to become the number one ingredient in plant-based drinks by the end of 2020,” said Alpro UK & Ireland marketing director David Jiscoot.
“This means there’s a huge opportunity to mirror this success in the yoghurt aisle and as as the category leader, Alpro is uniquely placed to make this happen.”
As well as being rich in fibre, Alpro Absolutely Oat was made from 100% European oats. “We are confident it will appeal to people looking for new ways to enjoy healthy, sustainable oat-based products in their diets,” Jiscoot added.
“It’s the ideal choice for a delicious, nutritious breakfast – or to enjoy as a snack in the afternoon.”
