Alpro is launching a push to expand its presence in c-stores with a new coffee cup format for its chilled Caffè range.
Adding to its take-home litre cartons and on-the-go 250ml twist-cap cartons, its new coffee cup, dubbed the Caffè Cup, is set to make its debut in the Boots meal deal from 1 October, with wholesale listings confirmed in Booker and Nisa.
The Caffè Cups will become available in existing Soya Caramel & Ethiopian Coffee and Coconut & Peruvian Coffee flavours, joined by a new Almond & Brazilian Coffee blend (rsp: £1.70/250ml).
Each variant is made with single origin Rainforest Alliance-certified coffee beans and comes in a plastic cup with cardboard sleeve featuring the new strapline: ‘Plant-based baristas’.
“Sales of plant-based food and drink are now worth £291m and rising by 17% year-on-year [Nielsen MAT w/e 24 March 2018] as demand for on-the-go plant-based options continues to soar,” said Alpro UK & Ireland head of marketing Vicky Upton. “So this is a great opportunity for us to partner with high street and convenience retailers to recognise this growing consumer need.
“For today’s on-the-go shopper, this means making their favourite plant-based products readily available, visible and affordable, while inspiring even more shoppers to discover plant-based. That includes making such products part of the popular Boots meal deal where shoppers are not only looking for quick, convenient products that are a positive addition to their day, but also seeking good value and on-the-go convenience.”
