Amazon has listed an extensive selection of Whole Foods Market produce on its UK site, just days after its assault on the US market.
AmazonFresh subscribers can now choose from a total of 447 Whole Foods products across 12 different categories, including meat, cheese and world foods.
The only category missing is fresh fruit & veg, normally a core part of the organic grocer’s offering.
For now, it appears the Whole Foods range is limited to AmazonFresh - available to Prime members in selected parts of London and the South East who pay an additional £6.99 monthly subscription fee - and only a small selection of products are on Amazon’s main site.
In the US, Whole Foods products launched across Amazon.com, AmazonFresh, Prime Pantry and Prime Now on Monday.
The launch coincided with a round of price cuts that brought in reductions of up 43% on bestselling items such as bananas, salmon, eggs and ground beef.
Amazon also announced it would eventually offer Prime members in-store benefits and discounts.
In UK stores, price cuts have also come into force. A kilo of organic Fairtrade bananas went down by 33% to £1.20, while a jar of Mr Organic Basilico pasta sauce was reduced by 12% to £2.29.
