Heineken UK is set to launch bottled versions of its Amstel beer brand into the UK off-trade.
The 4.1% abv beer has been available on draught in the UK since November 2002 and will now be sold in 300ml bottles - imported from Amsterdam - in supermarkets as six-packs.
Posters featuring Amsterdammers enjoying Amstel will support the launch. They also include a cautionary word for British beer drinkers tempted to overindulge.
Dutch words like Slokje, meaning 'little sip', will be accompanied by English taglines such as 'we race with our legs, not our beers'.
"It's a really exciting time for Amstel," said brand manager Toby Shaw. "Draught sales have increased year-on-year and we anticipate further growth with the introduction of packaged."
Amstel will be sold from the end of this month in Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, Makro, Booker and independent retailers.
It will be priced at £4.78 per six-pack.
