Ex-Palmer & Harvey executive Andrew King is to front a new wholesale division at digital content producer Nielsen Brandbank.
King joins the company as head of wholesale of its UK & Ireland business with more than 20 years of experience in the field having worked previously at Center Parcs and the Thresher Group.
He held a number of roles at Palmer & Harvey since 1997, and was most recently regional sales manager until February 2016.
He is currently business unit manager at forecourt non-food specialist Newco Europe BV.
In his new role, King will be responsible for improving Nielsen Brandbank’s delivery of existing services and developing new ones that better meet customer needs.
“I’m aiming to help foster a better understanding of wholesale and foodservice customers’ requirements and support the ongoing growth of this vital sector, particularly by creating a new service for wholesalers currently being used to great effect by retailers and fmcg brands,” said King.
Nielsen Brandbank collects, manages and distributes fmcg product content and imagery, primarily for e-commerce and logistics purposes.
“Having spent most of his career in senior wholesaler roles, his thorough knowledge of the challenges they face and their priorities will bring a new perspective to how we can address them,” said Nielsen Brandbank Western Europe commercial director Philip Gabillia.
“In particular, wholesaler needs around product content management are changing so Andrew will lead the next phase of our One Case One Place initiative - designing a global product content system that enables wholesalers to access and manage product content much more easily and accurately.”
