Beechams and Aquafresh owner GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare has appointed Anna Hale as its new area marketing director for Northern Europe.
Hale, who replaces Rachel Deans, will oversee the pain, respiratory, oral health, skin health and nutrition consumer healthcare categories and be responsible for developing and driving profitable growth across the brand portfolio in Great Britain, Ireland, Nordics and Benelux.
A former area marketing director for GSK Consumer Healthcare central and Eastern Europe, Hale first joined the business in 2006 as category director on respiratory health for Great Britain and Ireland, before working across the marketing division in senior brand-building roles and as part of commercial area leadership teams.
She previously spent nine years at Reckitt Benckiser working on a number of fmcg brands.
“Following the recent joint venture between Novartis and GSK and the subsequent addition of strong brands such as Voltarol and Otrivine to our stable, it is a great time to be taking on this role,” said Hale. “We have exciting plans for our brands and I’m really looking forward to working with the team to deliver a raft of creative campaigns to grow sales for the business, the categories and our customers.”
Carlton Lawson, area general manager for GSK Consumer Healthcare Northern Europe added that Hale’s “experience and energy” would be a “tremendous asset to the business”.
Deans has moved into the position of GSK’s global business lead in denture care.
