Beauty sweets: Upmarket German confectionery company Beauty Sweeties has extended its posh ‘lifestyle candy’ with three new fruit jellies. The honeydew melon, cranberry and pink grapefruit variants have a fruit content of 81% as well as vitamin supplements and aloe vera (rsp: €2.50 to €3). It has also relaunched its yoghurt cream pralines in a convenience bag format (€2.79).
Paula dried crisps: Polish natural food ingredient company Paula was showcasing its new vacuum-dried Crunchy Tomato Crisps, which are flavoured with basil and oregano. The crisps come in 20g packs.
Protein enrichment: Czech company Knedlíku introduced a range of products - including hamburgers, frankfurters, noodles and a hazelnut spread - containing added egg white protein.
Veg NPD: Germany supplier Erdbär was exhibiting a savoury vegetable snack for children under its Freche Freund brand. The organic carrot and parsnip wafers are made from 52% rehydrated vegetable purée and concentrate with wheat and wheat bran.
Seafood canapés: Highland Smoked Salmon has linked with Frank Dale Foods to launch a range of premium canapés. The range includes oatcake cups filled with either hot smoked salmon mousse topped with prawns and pepper pesto, or cream cheese topped or salmon, chives and olives.
Zucchini spread: Italian food producer BioItalia has teamed up with the University of Naples to develop an organic zucchini spread that can be used as a vegetable pâté or tossed through pasta as a sauce (180g pot).
Quick-cook grains: Italian manufacturer Pedon has extended its Timesaver range of quick-cook pulse and grain products with three 90-second microwaveable grain variants and three organic soups. The Souperpures comes in chickpea, green pea and mixed grains and pulses.
Glam rices: Gourmet rice expert Lotao GmbH has introduced Glam Wedding Pink to its range of exotic rices. The perfumed pink Basmati rice is intended for Bollywood-style weddings and celebrations.
Garlic honey: Portuguese company Casa de Prisca has launched a wildflower honey containing garlic, which it says enhances sauces and canapés.
Banana ketchup: St Lucia-based condiment manufacturer Baron Foods won an innovation award at Anuga for its thick, spiced banana ketchup.
