One of Australia's most iconic products, the Anzac biscuit, is to make its debut on the UK market.
Privately owned Aussie company Unibic has struck an exclusive deal to supply Sainsbury, with the first packs going on shelf from July 14.
The biscuit's journey to the UK is just the latest move in a remarkable history dating back to the First World War.
Taking their name from the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, the butter, brown sugar, coconut, golden syrup and oat biscuits were baked by mothers, wives and sweethearts who sent them to troops serving in Gallipoli.
A percentage of every pack sold Down Under goes to the Returned Servicemen's League and 4% from each 99p, 300g pack sold through Sainsbury will go to the Royal British Legion.
Unibic MD Michael Quinn said: "We are pleased to be bringing Anzac biscuits to the UK and are proud to be supporting those veterans who dedicated so much and fought alongside their Australian mates."
