Arla has removed a claim from the Cravendale website that suggested the brand was “kind to badgers” and not made with milk from farmers involved in the cull.

Under the heading “Is Cravendale kind to badgers?”, the FAQ section of the site stated: “Cravendale does not have any farmers who are involved in badger culling.” This was in apparent contradiction to Arla’s corporate stance, which - in line with the wider dairy processing industry - is supportive of the pilot culls that kicked off on 1 June.

Mike Walker, Arla senior director for branded milk, said the claim on the Cravendale website had been made in error and had now been removed from the site.
