Budgens has converted its first store to the new Quickstop blue and yellow fascia in Brighton.
The 1,640 sq ft store, which was previously branded Budgens Express and is located near the railway station, will focus on confectionery, soft drinks and newspapers. It will also be the first in the group to serve Costa coffee and feature a Hotstop hot food to go counter, which will offer hot sandwiches and freshly baked pastries, pies and sausage rolls to cater for commuters.
Budgens plans to roll out the new fascia to all 30 Express stores with a long-term goal of expanding the Quickstop sub-brand to all stores of under 3,000 sq ft where customers expect convenience.
Chief executive Martin Hyson said: “The Brighton store was the ideal candidate for our first conversion and we’re confident of positive results. The typical customer is looking for fast food solutions and we aim to provide round-the-clock choice and quality with fast, efficient service.”
