A TV ad for Fanta Z has been given a watershed restriction after hundreds of complaints to the advertising watchdog.
Coca-Cola’s commercial showed a young couple drinking cans of Fanta Light and then calmly spitting the drink out. A voiceover explained that while people liked the idea of Fanta Light, not everyone liked the taste. “Goodbye Fanta Light, hello Fanta Z,” it said.
Nearly 300 viewers complained that the advert encouraged bad manners in children. The Advertising Standard Authority ruled: “We considered it would be more suitable to restrict the advertisement to post-9pm.”
Coca-Cola said it had not meant to cause offence.
