Ascona Group has opened its first Greggs concession, and plans to launch at least another 30 in the next five years.
It has been added to the forecourt operator’s Crossways Service Station in Neyland, Wales, making the store the “first of its kind” across the Ascona estate.
Planning permission is underway for the second Greggs concession to be introduced to its at Holywell Service Station in north east Wales.
The aim is to help to create “a unique customer experience” by offering affordable food on the go, while ensuring “sustainable and profitable growth of the site for years to come” through the addition of the high-profile brand.
It will offer the full range of Greggs products, including its bakes, pastries and sausage rolls.
“I am thrilled that we have opened our first Greggs in Pembrokeshire. Greggs is a much-loved brand and one that we are truly excited to be partnering with,” said Ascona Group CEO Darren Briggs.
“Creating destinations that serve our customers and communities is at the heart of what we do, and the introduction of Greggs will be another string to our bow as we seek the magic formula at each of our locations.
“We are actively looking at multiple sites across our portfolio and our ambition is to open 30 new Greggs stores at forecourts across the country in the next five years, something we feel will is eminently doable after the stellar few weeks of trading this first site has had.”
