Asda is to add 50 new locally sourced products to its Yorkshire's Best range to be available at the chain’s stores in the region.
Karen Todd, Asda's head of local sourcing said: “From March we will be stocking 160 of our customer's favourite Yorkshire products, including parkin, pickles and potted beef in stores across the region.”
Todd added that local products often came from very small suppliers and that the chain had introduced reduced payment terms which “helps ease any potential cash flow problems” and allows them to “deliver direct to their local store if this is more convenient”.
