Asda is asking its big suppliers for upfront cash payments.
Reports suggest that the supermarket group has been holding talks with its bigger suppliers to discuss securing upfront fees in an effort to cut prices and improve profit.
Asda said that “it did not ever ask for payments from big multinational suppliers without any kind of jointly agreed plan to achieve growth.”
