Asda has added 19 new ciders to its range in a bid to tap into burgeoning demand for fruit ciders.
Having introduced dedicated cider bays in over 100 stores last year, it has this month introduced fruit Lambrini ciders and flavoured ciders from Rekorderlig, Bulmers, Brothers and Kopparberg.
Shoppers were branching out of standard lager and beer to more specialist lines, said Asda, adding that its fruit cider sales had risen 143% year-on-year over the past 12 months.
“We feel perfectly placed to capitalise on interest in different varieties this summer,” said cider buyer James Yelland.
