Morrisons has announced it has agreed to sell four more stores from the Safeway portfolio to Asda.
Three of these stores are among the list of those Morrisons is required to sell as a continuation of the disposals required by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) in December 2003.
The three stores are located in Shrewsbury, Abbey Park in Coventry and Burton on Trent.
Morrisons has decided to sell an additional store at Kingsthorpe in Northampton although this store was not on the OFT list.
The Safeway book value of the four stores and associated assets totals £38.7m.
