Asda senior meat trader Jim Viggars has been awarded the retailer’s internal Peter Asquith Award for Outstanding Achievement.

Viggars, who has been involved in Asda’s meat trade for more than 30 years, is often used in the retailer’s TV ads and was the face of its Butcher’s Selection campaign last summer.

“I’m just a shopkeeper who loves selling receiving the award is the highlight of my entire career,” he said.
