Asda has opened its 50th ‘On The Move’ convenience store.
The latest opening marks a quarter of the way to the supermarket giant reaching its 200-store target by the end of the year.
The new site opened today (7 September) on the Pride Park retail estate in Derby and will be the first Asda convenience site in the area. A further four stores will launch this week in Bangor, Leicester, Stoke, and Stourport-on-Severn.
Asda On The Move stores, which are operated in partnership with EG Group, are designed to broaden where new and existing shoppers can purchase Asda’s product range via neighbourhood and roadside locations.
There are over 1,300 branded and Asda-own label products available across the estate. Asda supplies the products through a wholesale agreement with EG Group, which owns and operates each site.
EG-owned food-to-go brands and franchise partners such as Starbucks, Greggs, Subway, and Cinnabon also make up the ‘Asda On The Move’ food offer.

“The popularity of these stores shows us that customers want to be able to pick up essentials quickly and conveniently or grab a spontaneous treat whilst they’re refuelling, and we look forward to continuing to provide that service to our customers in the future.’’
