Asda has introduced Cornish Crystal potatoes to its Extra Special range.
The potatoes have a creamy, soft and tender flesh with a fluffy skin.
Grown in Cornwall and supplied through QV Foods, they are harvested about two weeks ahead of other mainland new potatoes because of the warmth Cornwall receives from the Gulf Stream.
The potatoes (rsp: £1 for 750g) went into Asda stores last week.
Last week, Fenmarc launched its Belana potato variety direct to the retail trade for the first time.
