Asda has announced two new hires to its senior management team, including Morrisons’ former group supply chain director Lauren Lepley.
Lepley will join in early December as vice president central operations, having parted ways with Morrisons earlier this year.
She became supply chain director at Morrisons in 2022 and was featured in The Grocer’s list of the most powerful women in the supply chain this year.
Meanwhile, Mark Henry will join in January as vice president retail south, having served in senior roles including chief operating officer at Lidl Finland and most recently as group asset protection lead for M&S.
Both will report to Asda chief operations officer Matt Heslop when he takes up his role in January.
“We are very pleased to welcome Lauren and Mark to Asda,” said Asda chairman Stuart Rose. “They both bring a wealth of retail experience and proven track records in delivering operational excellence. This will be invaluable as we strengthen our business and deliver our long-term growth ambitions.”
Andrew Staniland, former group buying director at Iceland Foods and David Devaney, Iceland’s former VP of e-commerce, are also both set to join as VPs next year.
Today Asda also confirmed that Chris McKellar, VP retail south east, will leave the business in the new year to take up a career opportunity overseas and Simon Jury, VP data & analytics is leaving at the end of the year to take up a new role closer to home.
