Asda has recalled a batch of its own-label Cooked and Peeled King Prawns because some packs were incorrectly produced with raw prawns.
The recalled 180g packs have a ‘use by’ date of 7 June, and are marketed as ‘ready to eat’. According to the Asda website, they were farmed in Thailand, Indonesia or Vietnam and produced in the UK.
In a recall notice Asda apologised to consumers, asked them not to eat the prawns, and return them to stores.
An FSA spokesman confirmed that the incident was “not linked to any reported illnesses”.
