Asda has said that it will no longer ask applicants for their age on job applications.
The supermarket group said that it would employ staff from the ages of 16 to 70, which goes beyond new age-discrimination legislation coming into force on 1 October.
Asda people director David Smith said: “We simply don't see the point in asking people for their age when its irrelevant to our recruitment process.”
