Asda has announced plans to build a timber frame store in Shaw, Oldham.
Asda said that the 35,000 sq ft store, which is expected to open in February 2007, would also have a 'saw-tooth' roof designed to capture light and heat from the sun.
Bob Simpson, head of sustainable store development at Asda, said: “Through the construction of this store, our aim is to create a template that will become the model and blueprint for all our future store developments.”
