Asda is to launch an inquiry as to how some nuts and bolts got into meat pies sold at two of its stores in the south east.
According to The Sun newspaper, two shoppers have complained after one discovered bolts in a mini pork and pickle pie and the other a nut and bolt in a minced beef and onion pie.
The packs of four small pies were from Asda’s store in Swanley, Kent and Feering, Essex.
Asda has promised a thorough inquiry and said the pies came from different suppliers whose equipment was being checked.
