Asda is introducing a new range of speciality Irish foods into selected stores for a four-month trial this summer.
Sourced from 14 Irish food companies, the 33-product range will be stocked in 14 Asda stores from May to September. The range includes Clonakilty sausages, white and black pudding rings, Fastnet cooked mussels, Brady Family ham, Nolans Smoked Salmon and bacon and ham from Flynns Fine Foods. A number of dairy products and baked goods will also feature, with the products promoted in-store in 4ft Irish chilled bays within Asda's world food/emerging markets area.
O'Kane Irish Foods, which specialises in distributing Irish foods to UK multiples, will supply the products.
"The Asda Irish ethnic chilled range satisfies increasing demand for quality branded Irish food products in the UK," said chief executive Eddie O'Kane.
