Our popular #instorespot competition, celebrating the best of in-store displays around the UK, was won by Asda Monks Cross, for their fabulous display you can see above.
Angus MacIver: “We’re delighted to announce the winner of the #instorespot Father’s day competition as Asda Monks Cross! Their ‘gifts made personal’ efforts gave shoppers a great opportunity to give Dad something a little different this year – inspiring! We loved the tie in with the online 3Dme figures too.”
Catherine Shuttleworth: “During the days running right up to Father’s Day, our own research estimated spending to reach £737m this year. It’s a substantial, yet often underestimated retail opportunity. Whilst we didn’t observe the same number of displays or competition submissions that we did for Mother’s day, those that were nominated looked great. After Asda, most notable for me was Aldi who are really starting to make a mark in calendar event activity. I expect to see a stronger programme coming from them as the year progresses and beyond. Across the board though there’s a lot more potential for instore theatre and with spending up for this retail event than in previous year’s, we have higher expectations for creativity and inspiration for 2016.”
Sue McVie: “Other nominations worthy of a mention include multiple Tesco stores (and from different formats) – who provided a great range of gifts for every budget with good calls to action. We also liked the nominated Fortnum and Mason Piccadilly displays – which had lovely edible gift sets and lots of other ideas beautifully displayed with hampers and great signage.”
