Peter Hunt’s Bakery Foods, the savoury pie and slice manufacturer, has bought Ashworth’s Foods’ frozen, unbaked savoury business. Production will transfer to Peter Hunt’s facilities in Bolton, while the old factory will be closed. However, Ashworth’s Foods, which clocked up £10m sales in the past year, will maintain chilled food production through its other factory in Preston.
