Cider and vinegar supplier Aspall is rolling out its speciality vinegars to the US for the first time.
From this month, 200 Whole Foods Market stores in the US will carry Organic Cyder Vinegar, Organic Balsamic Vinegar, Organic Apple & Cranberry Balsamic Vinegar, Organic Apple Balsamic Vinegar and Golden Malt Vinegar.
All are the same liquid as Aspall’s UK products, apart from Organic Apple & Cranberry Balsamic and Organic Apple Balsamic as these are not available in organic formats in the UK. They will be packed in 350ml bottles, rather than the 250ml bottles used in the UK (rsp: from $2.99 to $5.99).
“Aspall has been at the forefront of cyder vinegar making in the UK for over 40 years and we are now the UK’s leading speciality vinegar producer,” said Aspall’s Henry Chevallier Guild. “We are delighted to be introducing our speciality vinegars to the US and are looking forward to adding dynamism to the US vinegar market in the same way that we have in the UK.
“Whole Foods Market shares the same philosophy as Aspall with its emphasis on artisanal and quality products, and was therefore a natural partner to introduce our speciality vinegars to the US.”
Aspall was founded in 1728 by Clement Chevallier and is now owned and managed by the eighth generation of the Chevallier family. The company also exports its vinegars to Ireland, Denmark and Sweden.
