Associated British Foods is expected to post a pre-tax profit of around £282m, up from £268m, when it unveils its half-year results tomorrow (Tuesday).
Analysts are expecting strong performances from its grocery business, British Sugar unit and discount clothing chain Primark.
"We continue to see plenty of business turnaround and underlying profitable growth opportunities at ABF - not to mention external growth opportunities,” said analysts at JP Morgan. “However, it appears clear that 2008 will be challenging and that ABF does not have a lot of room for manoeuvre to surprise on the upside."
