Morrisons has appointed Neal Austin as director of
logistics. He is set to start his role, which is a new one for the retailer, on 2 October, and will be reporting directly to David Hutchinson, Morrisons' manufacturing, warehouse and distributions director.
Austin joins the Morrisons team from MFI where he was distribution director. He has also held a number of senior trade and supply chain appointments at both Tesco and Asda.
Austin's appointment follows the news that Morrisons is planning to move all of its IT functions in house, and totally restructure its supply chain department (The Grocer, 12 August, p10).
