Asda Dunfermline, Fife
0 This bustling Asda store in Halbeath, near Dunfermline, was a contender for our Top Store award this week. Clean and clear aisles, a friendly atmosphere and a full basket were all reported by our shopper, who was also offered a bag for life for 10p. Of the 28 checkouts 18 were operating.

morrisons Eccles, Greater Manchester
0 This week's triumphant store was described by our Manchester shopper as "lovely, bright and couldn't be bettered". It had no out of stock items and our shopper was impressed by the number and variety of special offers on the shop floor. The checkout assistant offered to pack our shopper's bags and 20 of the 21 tills were open.

sainsbury's Bridgwater, Somerset
0 Although this store was clean and well-organised, most of the aisles were cluttered with packing trolleys. A full basket was provided but shoppers had to wait for more till-trained staff to help tackle the long queues. There was no offer of help to pack bags, no hello or goodbye and there was a discrepancy on the receipt.

somerfield Claygate, Surrey
2 This small Somerfield store might have witnessed a Grocer 33 speed record as it did not stock 4-packs of baking potatoes or the Walkers Crisps Variety pack and was out of stock of long grain rice and Dairylea. However, the store was clean and tidy and the staff were flawless in their enthusiastic and professional attitude.

tesco Stowmarket, Suffolk
2 Our Tesco shopper found herself battling through cardboard boxes and shelf-stackers at this Stowmarket branch. The Birds Eye garden peas and red seedless grapes were out of stock and the vegetable display was looking depleted. However, the checkout assistant was friendly and there was a sufficient number of checkouts operating.

waitrose Monmouth, Monmouthshire
0 The Walkers Crisps Variety pack and Ragu pasta sauce were not stocked at this store and only loose kiwi fruit, not bagged, were sold. The fruit and veg display was beautifully presented and fresh-looking and the staff were pleasant and polite - especially at the checkout.
